Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (EAC), also known as 3-O-Ethyl-L-Ascorbic Acid, is a stable form of Vitamin C with antioxidant, skin brightening, and collagen-boosting properties. It is more stable and soluble in both water and oil compared to pure Vitamin C, making it a promising skincare ingredient. It is a newer form of Vitamin C that offers better overall performance, including improved stability, heat and photostability, and ease of formulation. It is also known for its skin whitening properties, making it popular in Asian countries.

EAC is more stable and has better skin penetration compared to other Vitamin C derivatives like Ascorbyl Glucoside. It is also less irritating to the skin. It is recommended to use products with Ethyl Ascorbic Acid in air-tight, tinted glass jars to prevent loss of potency due to exposure to air or sunlight. It is much stable at a pH range between 5-6.5.
