Glyceryl caprylate is soluble in natural oils, fats, and mineral oils and dispersible in excess water. It melts at approximately 30°C. Glyceryl caprylate is a monoester of glycerin and caprylic acid. Glyceryl caprylate is a preservative booster, which means it can enhance the efficacy of other preservatives in a formulation. Glyceryl caprylate is a 100% plant derived, natural (Ecocert approved) multi-functional ingredient that has emollient and moisturizing properties, can work as a co-emulsifier and even more importantly has a strong antimicrobial activity. Thanks to this last thing, it allows a lower percentage of traditional preservative or it might even be able to completely replace them.
